From a Childhood of Uncertainty to Helping Moms Find Balance and Joy

I grew up with a mother who struggled deeply with her mental health. Her pain didn’t just affect her—it shaped our entire family. As a child, I saw firsthand what it meant to live in a home where emotions felt unpredictable, where love was present but often overshadowed by chaos, and where I learned too early how to navigate the ups and downs of a struggling mother.

In high school, I found support and guidance from a Psychologist who changed my life. That experience made me want to learn how to help children who are struggling.  Her help was a turning point, sparking a passion in me to work with kids and teens—those who felt the weight of their family’s struggles but didn’t have the tools for resilience.

So, I became a Psychologist. I dedicated myself to helping children and teens navigate ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and other emotional challenges. But then, I became a mother myself—and everything shifted again.

For the first time, I understood what it felt like to be on the other side. The exhaustion, the self-doubt, the pressure to do everything right. I was juggling a growing practice, caring for my children, and continuing to heal myself.

That’s when I knew I had to shift my focus—not just to children but to the women raising them. After becoming a mom, I realized how critical it is to support mothers better too.  Why? Because when mothers feel supported, the entire family thrives.

As I raised my own children, I found myself returning to a simple mantra: gentle, loving, joyful. It became my guiding light when things felt overwhelming, reminding me of the kind of mother I wanted to be—not perfect, ask my children, but present.

Now, my life’s purpose is to help other moms find balance, self-compassion, and joy on their journey to becoming the mothers they always wanted to be and the parents their children need.

As I continue this work, I’m expanding my support for moms through group programs. These programs will allow me to reach more parents and provide a cost-effective way for families to access support, connections, and fundamental strategies for lasting change.

In a group setting, moms can learn, grow, and heal together, knowing they are not alone in their struggles. Because when mothers support each other, powerful transformations happen.

Do any of these sound familiar?

  • You are a Mom with ADHD or Anxiety, you are grieving, or you had an unhappy childhood.

  • You want to be a mom, but you didn’t know it is such a hard road to get there or YOU ARE a new mother and it is not at all what you expected.

  • You have toddlers or preschoolers and some days YOU really need the time-out.

  • You have older children and/or teens, and you feel like you are on a hamster wheel. You never wanted to be a witch, but you feel like one.  On top of that, you feel overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated.

  • Your kids are headed toward college or moving out on their own.  You are headed toward an empty nest and you are having trouble remembering who you are and what YOU want from life.

  • You have adult children, and they are finding careers and partners (or not), and it feels like a whole new phase of walking on eggshells and worrying about them.

  • You feel lonely, and you need to reconnect with others, maybe your partner, your children, and your friends.  In the whirlwind of motherhood, you have forgotten about yourself and how to take care of you.

You Can Trust Me to Help

Together, we will work to discover what you need to feel better. You can depend on me to be by your side as we figure out how to get there. I will help you regain confidence, feel more connected to others, and find balance and peace. I am dedicated to these issues because they provide the essential foundation you need while running the marathon of motherhood.

I will help you put the self-help books you read and the podcasts you listen to into action.  At first, you will likely need practical solutions and problem-solving.  But, it is essential you find a therapist who you feel understands you so you can heal more deeply and stop feeling all alone.  Next, we will work on your self-esteem and, if needed, unresolved feelings from childhood.  We will work on making long-lasting changes in yourself and your relationships. I will help you determine what is your responsibility and, more importantly, what is not.

With me, You Will Get a Unique Combination Of My education, my experience working with hundreds of Moms, And my Personal Lived Experience.

Some of my passion for mothers was born out of the stress of walking the floor with my first baby while she cried off and on for hours.  I felt helpless and unsure if I could be both a good Mom and a good Psychologist.  Both were so challenging AND very important to me, and to make it worse, I was new at both.

Clients often tell me I am the first “therapist they could really connect with.”  I want to create a therapy experience where you reach your goals in a way that YOU feel comfortable with.

Often, a big part of therapy is getting comfortable with change. Change is hard and can make us feel discombobulated (clinical word), but having someone there with you when trying to do something new gives you the confidence you need and makes all the difference.

My approach will be tailored to your needs and your preferences.

Do you like structure and homework?  Then I will give you homework.

Do you need time and space to talk and express your feelings? That is my specialty.

Do you need relationship or emotional coping skills or the motivation and confidence to use the skills you already have?

By the end of your time with me, you will have newfound confidence that you know what you are doing and that you are finally on the right path.

ARE YOU READY TO LIVE IN A CALM, LOVING HOME WITH FAMILY MEMBERS WHO APPRECIATE and support EACH OTHER? YOU DESERVE ALL OF THIS AND more

LIKE FLOWERS, WE ARE ALL OUR MOST BEAUTIFUL WHEN WE GROW AND FLOURISH. WHEN WE START CHANGING IN THERAPY, WE ARE BEGINNING TO BLOOM.

I have always loved the expression “Bloom Where You are Planted.” It seems to suggest that we should all use what we have been given, not denying our weaknesses, circumstances, or challenges, but acknowledging them and using our strengths and the adversity we have experienced to make the most out of what we have and to grow and bloom as God, evolution, or mother nature intended.  As we grow, we can learn how to love and live better.  No matter what our age,  when we commit to focus on ourselves and how we can thrive then we are Beginning to Bloom.
